Week 9 Results

If you followed my plays this week, I hope you found your way to the green like I did.  My cash game card pulled out 185.84 points cashing each contest I entered it in.  My GPP card hit 190.62, also cashing on each ticket.  While I didn't win the big one, once again, I did double my money for Week 9.

Noteworthy items taken from Week 9:

Dez Bryant is ready to be trusted in both daily and season long formats.

Derek Carr came across country for an early start and continued to pile up points.

Ben Roethlisberger was back to his old self before getting injured once again.  Biggest beneficiary was Antonio Brown with an amazing 284 yards helping our GPP card with 49.6 points.

Sammy Watkins looks to be ready for the lights once again though a Thursday night game vs the Jets is not a match up I recommend.  Watkins caught all 8 targets for 168/1.

The Bills also found a way to make two RB's work.  McCoy - 112/1, Williams 110/2.

Lamar Miller combined for 141 yards and a TD.

The Packers started off unbelievably slow but Rodgers warmed up ending his day with 369/4.
Eddy Lacy was again replaced by Starks who, just as before, outplayed the starter.  Lacy doesn't look the same to me.  Starks is a fine player but not tremendous.  Starks is consistently playing better than Lacy.

LeGarratte Blount took over most running duties when Lewis got hurt piling up 129 on 29 carries.  Brandon Bolden picked up the receiving work left behind from Lewis.  Bolden will be a very interesting play this week for just $3000.

Brandon LaFell also found his way to 109 yards on 5 receptions.  It looks like this could be the trend moving forward.  LaFell's price is now $4100, up from $3200.  I thought LaFell was under priced in week 9, he could still be a bargain at $4100.

The Saints continue to find themselves in shoot outs due to their poor defensive play.  The Saints defense gave up 483 of offensive yards to the Titans who seem to struggle on offense at times.  The Saints now face Washington.  This will be a game where I try to take advantage of some matchups.

The Peterson/Gurley show did produce some fruit from the tree.  Peterson bettered Gurley by hitting for 125/1 vs Gurley 89/1.

The Allen's (Robinson/Hurns) combined for 243 yards.  Hurns was in a walking boot Monday and we will need to monitor as the week continues.  Jacksonville plays Baltimore this week which is a VERY favorable match up.  Allen Robinson ($6700) will likely be in all my LU's this coming week.

Mike Evans recorded an amazing 18 targets though only catching 8 of those.  He did tally 152 yards though if he could have converted a couple more of those targets he might have hit Antonio Brown numbers.

If you just look at the box score, Charles Sims had a much better day than Doug Martin though Sims numbers are padded by a 59 yard run.  While you can't dismiss the 59 yard run, I wouldn't read too much into the box score.  Both players fumbled once.  We may be looking at a bit of a timeshare looking forward.

Odell Beckham was another target hog.  ODB saw 17 targets converting 9 of those into catches for 105 yards.

The Broncos trade for a aging yet still athletic TE Vernon Davis, so what happens?  Owen Daniels goes 6/102/1.  That is precisely how you draw it up.  Right.

Andrew Luck showed some glimpses of his former self.  This is the kind of performance against a strong Broncos D that can get you on track for the rest of the season.  The Colts are on their bye in week 10 but Luck will probably be a strong play against the Falcons in week 11.  His price has fallen, so he will be priced attractively giving us an opportunity to take advantage of a slow reacting market.

The Eagles offense got going against the Cowboys.  Both Murray and Matthews proved relavant while Jordan Matthews had a nice game as well with 133/1.  I am not a huge fan of Jordan Matthews due to his drop problem.  His price this week is $6100 playing the Dolphins coming up.

Jeremy Langford filled in for Forte nicely combining for 142 yards and a TD.  He was one of the best bargains of the week and if Forte misses any more action,  Langford will continue to get touches.  Unfortunately, the Bears are facing a tough Rams defense this week and I will likely be passing on Langford here.

The Chargers offense chose to spread the ball around in the absence of Kennan Allen.  Six different players caught passes from Rivers, I think you can expect to see more of the same moving forward.

On to Week 10.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.  I will attempt to answer them all.
