Thursday Night Football Contests

After doing a bit of research on the TNF contests I entered this week, the statistics continue to prove you should enter contests with TNF players.
It also proves you should be very selective in the players you do select for these contests.

The total (43) on the game last night was one of the lower totals for Week 10's action and ended up going under hitting 39.

So, in what was projected as a low scoring game, plenty of contestants threw caution to the wind and still loaded their line ups with players from the TNF game.

I have entered in several contests for Week 10 of the NFL slate.  I entered in a couple large tournaments and many cash games.  The large tournaments have much more less informed contestants than the cash games.

One Large Tournament Stats:
64 contestants entered the contest but failed to successfully enter a line up.  Those people literally donated to the cause.  They have 0 points and 0 minutes remaining.

78 contestants filled their entire line up leaving just one spot open.  These contestants have 60 minutes remaining and only have a range of 62-119 points.  These contestants have all but donated to the cause.

120 contestants have filled their line up leaving 2 roster spots open.  These contestants have a range of points from 51-109.  Again, they all but donated to the cause but have a small little glimmer of hope left.

185 contestants have left 3 roster spots open and range in points from 52.7-98.92.  These contestants have a touch more hope having 180 minutes remaining though not much more than the previous group.

268 contestants have 240 minutes remaining and range in points from 33.22-86.92.  Again, a glimmer of hope but realistically have no shot at winning any money.

491 contestants have used four roster spots leaving them with 300 minutes remaining.  This group will have a chance at winning some money though much less than others having a full line up left.

1191 contestants have only used three roster spots.  I can make a case for this group having a legitimate chance at winning money.  Their point range is very vast.  On the low end, five contestants rolled the dice with Kembrell Tompkins, Bilal Powell, and Geno Smith leaving them with 1.2 points and 360 minutes remaining.

The highest point total in this group has 61.12 points using Fitzpatrick, McCoy, and Decker.  I can make a case for McCoy and Decker but Fitzpatrick was not a very wise decision.  Fitzpatrick cost him $5100, the better money would have been spent on Kirk Cousins for $5200.

While I know a lot of you will likely do your research for the weeks games after the TNF game has completed, you can still enter the contest simply by reserving your spot in the contest instead of filling out the entire roster.  It is a much quicker way of getting into the contest with limited time on your hands.
