Week 15 Hail Mary Plays

The Daily Fantasy Minute:  Where your DFS advice is always free!

Before I start my Hail Mary Plays I want to remind everyone of a few things.
1.  They are Hail Mary Plays, just by name alone it should indicate to you they are low percentage but high reward plays.
2.  I use a $3500 cutoff as my threshold.
3.  I cheat occasionally, deal with it.

My Hail Mary Plays continue to be pretty hot where last week two of the four selections paid dividends for those willing to take the risk.

DraftKings wiped several of what would be my top HM plays off by not offering Bryce Brown or Christine Michael this week.

1.  Fozzy Whittaker ($3000)

Carolina -5
NYG 48.5
The Panthers went ahead and ruled James Stewart out for Week 15.  This leaves an ugly three headed monster in terms of fantasy.  What we do know is Whittaker led the team in offensive snaps after Stewart left the blow out game against the Falcons in Week 14.  Whittaker is not a special player, he just has a special name.  With that said, it would appear on the surface for Whittaker to end up with a large workload.  Even if fat Mike Tolbert vultures the GL carries, Whittaker appears to be the top candidate for early down work.  Whittaker is a high volume, low ceiling type of player that you can use in your cash game LU's.  Using Whittaker as your RB or flex this week will allow you to spend more at other key positions I have hi-lighted throughout the week.

2.  Seth Roberts ($3300)
Green Bay -2.5
@ Oakland 45.5
Sam Shields has had some very nice game in recent weeks.  The problem is, he suffered a concussion in Week 14 and has yet to practice for Week 15 as he goes through the NFL concussion protocol.  If Shields does not play, the the coverage shifts accordingly.  The dynamic play maker, Amari Cooper, has been forced to face off with the teams top DB.  Cooper has struggled recently not scoring in the last five weeks and was completely taken out of the game last week by Aqib Talib.  Seth Roberts has taken advantage of the scenario scoring three times in as many weeks also adding a 100+ yard performance to his resume.  Roberts is benefiting from lesser coverage and if Shields sits this one out, he could be in for another sneaky good performance.

Edit To Add:
3.  Zach Miller ($3600)
Chicago 43

@ Minnesota -4
I wrote about Miller in my TE selections this week, he fits my cheating threshold and should definitely be considered a HM play for Week 15.

4.  Will Tye ($3100)
Carolina -5
NYG 48.5
Josh Norman is emerging as one of the NFL's elite DB's.  His task this week will be to take Odell Beckham out of the game.  Norman has been very successful in this task thus far this season.
As Norman attempts to take ODB out of the game, Tye should find himself with open opportunities.  Tye has gone over 70 yards in two of his last three games including a TD in the MNF game.  There is low floor potential with the Panthers defense playing as the best defensive unit in football right now.

5.  Malcom Floyd ($3500)

Maimi 45.5
San Diego PK
These poor Chargers are in a bad way right now.  They don't have any players left but Phillip Rivers seems willing to put up the good fight.  Malcom Floyd really hasn't been the same since he tore his labrum back in Week 9.  He is trying to play through the injury and he does deserve credit for it.  Malcom Floyd did lead the Chargers with nine targets in Week 14.  He will likely be facing Brent Grimes who continues to have just a terrible season.  By no means would I ever compare the talent of Malcom Floyd to ODB, but it should be noted Grimes is struggling this year and Floyd has a chance to take advantage of it.  Grimes stands at 5'10" and has always made the most of his athletic and leaping ability.  Malcom Floyd stands at 6'5" giving himself a natural 6" advantage over the undersized Grimes making him a great Red Zone option for Rivers.  This is a good match up to watch and one that I am willing to put a HM play on for Week 15.
