Wow, all you can do is put your best foot forward and what happens after that is out of your hands. That is precisely what happened this past week.
The goal is to score 130-140 points any given week and you will win roughly 80% of your H2H and 50/50 contests. I was blanked this week having done just that. 3 of my 4 line ups were in the sweet spot of scoring and they somehow didn't net me a single nickle.
That's OK, the percentages will certainly weigh out in the end. Let's start working towards Week 9 and find the match ups we need to get back on the winning track.

Searching Around The Bargain Bin
Demaryius Thomas started us off nicely last night for you guys who put him in your line up. I'll take 21.5 all day long from my top end WR, keep in mind the way I constructed my line ups this week was based on multiple top tier WR's.
If Jordy Nelson and Dez Bryant can be just decent on Sunday, we can walk away with 50-60 points from just 3 WR's.
On to the Bargain Bin:
I have found myself using Jerick McKinnon ($4900) vs TB in many contests. Not only did
McKinnon go to my High School (Sprayberry HS, Marietta Ga...roughly 20 years apart) but the kid is simply talented. Tampa Bay can not play defense right now. Over the last 4 games, the Bucs have given up 42 PPG on AVERAGE! The percentages are playing in our favor with McKinnon
Doug Baldwin ($4700 vs Carolina)
Over the last 5 weeks, the Panthers have been absolutely GASHED by the top WR(s) from the opposing team. With Russell Wilson coming in hot, Percy Harvin traded to the Jets, I expect Doug Baldwin to have a field day this weekend.
WR against Carolina last 5 weeks
Green Bay - Cobb/Nelson - 10/201/2 - 45.3 FPTS
Cincinnati - Mohamed Sanu - 10/120/1 - 31.0 FPTS
Chicago - Forte/Jefferey - 18/212/2 - 58.3 FPTS
Baltimore - Torrey/Steve - 9/192/3 - 49.2 FPTS
Pittsburgh - A. Brown - 10/90/2 - 31.0 FPTS
These are some gaudy numbers folks. Sign me up for Seattle's leading WR, Doug Baldwin.
With the studs I have loaded at WR, I have to take a shot at TE, and that is OK with me.
Zach Ertz ($3200 vs Arizona)
Arizona is ranked 31st in the NFL against the pass and have given up some awful numbers against the TE as well.
TE's against Arizona defense
Jordan Reed - 8/92 - 17.2 FPTS
Julius Thomas - 6/66/2 - 24.6 FPTS
Larry Donnell - 7/81 - 15.1 FPTS
Antontio Gates - 6/81 - 14.1 FPTS
This averages out to 17.75 FPTS per game. For $3200, I love Zach Ertz in this match up.
Mark Ingram ($4300 vs GB)
The Packers have not defended the rush at all this season. They are currently ranked 31st against the rush and both Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson will both be out for this game leaving Mark Ingram and Travaris Cadet to fill the void.
RB's against GB
Lamar Miller - 17.3 FPTS
Matt Forte - 25.1 FPTS
Reggie Bush - 21.9 FPTS
Chris Ivory - 11.7 FPTS
Marshawn Lynch - 28.4 FPTS
Green Bay seems to give points away for free, just stand in line if you'd like to run the ball against the Packers. Give me more Mark Ingram please!

I have made a few alterations to one of my line ups. Nothing major, but a few changes none the less. Let me know if you are interested.

Week 8 Draft Kings Line Up Estimates
Line Up 1
In our Teddy Bridgewater line up, on paper it appears we have really maximized each and every dollar Draft Kings has given us to utilize.
Spending just $5100 on QB, while risky, puts us on pace to score in that 140 FPT window. This is the money window we want to be in.

Estimated Totals
I may tinker with this one some more though I like the way it shaped out. While it has some considerable consistency to it, there is also some HR hitters to put us in the running for GPP's.
I really like nearly every match up in this line up. Tony Romo and Dez Bryant going up against the 31st ranked Washington Pass Defense has some serious blow up potential. Again maximizing our dollars against key match ups, we find our score to estimate important 135-145 range.
With a little luck, and we always need a little bit of that L word, this line up can score into the 150's which will win you money nearly 100% of the time in 50/50 contests.

The base players are the same but I have mixed and matched at a few positions spreading out my risk. I will make a 3rd line up varying players yet again to continue spreading my risk leaving myself less vulnerable.

The Teddy Line Up Card
OK, now that I have adjusted the line up to account for Teddy Bridgewater, I have made a few substitutions improving my line up in various positions.
Pos | Player | FPPG | |
QB | T. Bridgewater | 12.4 | swap out |
RB | Denard Robinson | 6.5 | swap out |
RB | Ben Tate | 11.1 | swap out |
WR | Jordy Nelson | 23.3 | swap out |
WR | Golden Tate | 19.2 | swap out |
WR | Demaryius Thomas | 25.4 | swap out |
TE | Jordan Reed | 9.7 | swap out |
FLEX | Dez Bryant | 19.1 | swap out |
DST | Vikings | 7.1 | swap out |
Keeping my base line up, I was able to remove Greg Jennings (which is a strong value) and replace him with Golden Tate who could have another field day against the reeling Atlanta Falcons who are clearly on the down turn.
In order to make this happen, I replaced Owen Daniels with Jordan Reed. As long as his hamstring holds up, this line up has some blow up potential I wouldn't be afraid to put into a GPP contest though I rarely play those type of contests.
